A judge has granted house arrest to Cruz Alberto Cervantes Miranda, also known as "Crucito". He is known for his involvement in the murder of six young people and other crimes, and is connected to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).

After being placed under house arrest, "Crucito" managed to escape by breaking his tracking bracelet. He was originally brought to Quintana Roo to face charges for a mass murder that occurred on January 20, 2019, in Region 219 of Cancún, which resulted in seven fatalities.

On January 6, 2024, following his incarceration, his defense argued for a change in his precautionary measure to house arrest due to his physical condition. Judge Gabriela Concepción Carrillo Cab approved this request. However, a month later, on February 5, "Crucito" was declared a fugitive after he managed to evade electronic monitoring. The discarded tracking bracelet was later found at his home in the Villas Lakin-Arcos Paraíso neighborhood. His partner claimed to have no knowledge of his current location.

"Crucito" was initially captured in 2019 in Jalisco after a showdown with the military, during which his accomplice Cristopher F. M., another CJNG member, was killed. Weapons and vehicles associated with the criminal group were confiscated during this confrontation.

Throughout "Crucito's" legal proceedings, it was revealed that his accomplice, Janeth Yazuri "N", served a four-year sentence, while other individuals involved were released quickly. His escape underlines the ongoing issues within the justice system, where security measures appear inadequate to prevent serious criminals from eluding authorities. A search operation is currently underway to locate "Crucito".

During his initial arrest in Jalisco, ten other hitmen were also apprehended. The operation led to the seizure of eight vehicles, 19 rifles, four Barret .50 caliber rifles, three handguns, and six grenades.

"Crucito" is identified as one of the main culprits in the massacre in Region 219 of Cancun, where seven people were killed. He provided information about his accomplices in Cancun, which led to an armed confrontation with security forces. He was also linked to an attack on two state police officers in Cancun, alongside his accomplice Cristopher F. M., who died in the clash.

"Crucito" was captured on February 21, 2019, in Jalisco, following a confrontation with the Army. On February 26, 2022, the 22-year-old was transferred to the CERESO in the municipality of Benito Juarez in Quintana Roo, where he is due to appear before a control judge for the continuation of his criminal proceedings.
