Isla Mujeres, Mexico — The government of Isla Mujeres, led by Municipal President Atenea Gómez Ricalde, successfully carried out the "Rodada Rosa" in the Zona Continental. The event was part of the "Tócate para que no te toque" campaign, whose primary objective is to promote prevention and awareness about the importance of the timely diagnosis of breast cancer.
Atenea Gómez stated that activities like this seek to strengthen unity among the island's women, promoting health as well as social consciousness and participation in preventive campaigns.
"Every woman who checks herself and gets examined in time has a better chance of saving her life; that is why we are here, united and aware. Today we traveled together along Avenida Gastón Alegre, showing that prevention is an action for everyone," emphasized Atenea Gómez.
During the ride, women and men of all ages joined the event on skates, scooters, and decorated bicycles, where they showed enthusiasm and commitment to raising awareness about the early detection of breast cancer.
The municipal president highlighted the importance of every woman knowing her body and attending periodic medical check-ups, recalling that prevention saves lives and that a united community can generate real change in public health.
The ride concluded at the Plaza de los Ejidatarios, where community activities were held and educational messages about the early detection of breast cancer were shared.
The City Council thanked all the people who joined the initiative, reiterating that prevention is everyone's responsibility and that, through unity and information, positive results can be achieved in the fight against this disease.
