Join Isla Mujeres’ Dance Contest for Mexican Culture

Dancers showcase their cultural heritage through a vibrant performance, wearing traditional costumes adorned with flowers during a festive event.

Isla Mujeres — With the objective of preserving traditions, strengthening national identity, and promoting local artistic talent, the Government of Isla Mujeres, led by Municipal President Atenea Gómez Ricalde, has opened the registration for the "México Danza y Cultura, 215th Anniversary of the Revolution" contest.

Dance groups, comprised of 10 to 16 dancers over the age of 18, are eligible to participate. The contest will unfold in two stages: the first on November 8, featuring a presentation with a free theme, and the second on November 15, with a theme centered on the Mexican Revolution. Each performance will have a maximum duration of seven minutes.

Interested participants must submit a copy of their INE (Voter ID), CURP (Unique Population Registry Code), proof of address, a synopsis of the group, and the music they plan to use. Registrations will be open until October 31 at the Directorate of Culture in the Bicentenario Plaza (Yellow Building) or via WhatsApp at 998 734 8594.

The choreographies will be evaluated based on costume, rhythm, technique, originality, expression, and stage presence. All participants will receive recognition, and the first-place winner will be awarded a trophy.

The Government of Isla Mujeres calls upon all dancers and groups in the municipality to join and participate in this cultural celebration, which strengthens Mexican identity, unity, and tradition.
