Human Remains Found in Cancún’s Region 244

Cancún, Mexico — Human remains were discovered on the morning of Wednesday, October 29, in Cancún's Region 244, within the El Jordán neighborhood. The gender of the deceased has not yet been determined.

The discovery marks another instance of such findings in Cancún, where these cases have unfortunately become a constant occurrence. The human remains were located inside black bags.

According to reports, residents of the area found the lifeless body and subsequently alerted emergency services by calling 911.

Following the call, Municipal Police officers arrived at this part of Cancún and secured the area by establishing a perimeter. Officers from the Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office arrived later to begin the investigation.

Forensic experts from the Medical Examiner's Service also arrived at the location to carry out the recovery and transfer of the remains to the morgue for analysis and identification. The cause of death is also being investigated. It is suspected that the death could be a homicide.

It is currently unknown whether the human remains belong to a man or a woman, or if the individual was listed as a missing person from Cancún.

Murders and Violent Incidents

The destination has seen no day without violent events such as executions or discoveries of human remains. Violence was present in Cancún with two executions that occurred in different parts of the city on the morning of Tuesday, October 28. The victims were two men.

In the first case, a man was executed with a gunshot to the head on a soccer field located in Region 251, in the Paseos del Mar subdivision. The events are reported to have occurred around 8:00 a.m.

After the alert was sent to 911, Municipal Police officers arrived at Isla Galápagos street in the Paseos del Mar area of Cancún and cordoned off the zone. Paramedics also arrived, noted a person lying on the ground, and upon examination confirmed the individual showed no signs of life.

Separately, and a short time later, another execution was carried out in Cancún. In this instance, a man was killed by gunshots outside a grocery store named "Cielo Nuevo."

These events took place in the Cielo Nuevo subdivision of the city, where, according to initial reports, a man was intercepted by another individual near the intersection of Arco Vial and Lakin Avenue.
