Cancún, Mexico — A tourist from France was discovered bound and gagged in the early hours of Friday near the Arco Vial in Cancún, in the vicinity of the Carabanchel neighborhood. This incident occurred hours before a scheduled meeting between the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, and French President Emmanuel Macron.

According to police reports, the man, approximately 40 years old, was the victim of a violent assault and was abandoned in a green area.

Authorities Rescue French Tourist at the Arco Vial

The discovery took place around 2:30 in the morning, when motorists traveling through Region 106 reported a person lying next to the roadway, initially believing it to be a lifeless body. Upon arrival at the scene, elements of the State Police confirmed the man was alive, though visibly beaten.

He was identified as Vicente Luisun "N", originally from France, who recounted with difficulty—due to his limited command of Spanish—that several individuals had intercepted him, beaten him, and robbed him of his belongings before abandoning him.

Stable Condition After Treatment by Paramedics

Paramedics from the Red Cross arrived at the site to provide first aid and subsequently transported him to the Cancún General Hospital. According to the medical report, the French tourist is in stable condition and out of danger. Authorities have maintained an open investigation to identify those responsible for the attack.
