The violent incident occurred hours before Christmas Eve celebrations and generated an intense police mobilization.
DOUBLE EXECUTION UNDER ANALYSIS BY THE ATTORNEY GENERAL’S OFFICE
According to information confirmed by authorities, the attack occurred when armed men arrived at the site and fired directly at a group of people.
As a result, two individuals lost their lives at the scene, while a third victim was seriously injured and was transferred to a hospital, where they remained under the surveillance of security forces.
The first lines of investigation by the FGE pointed to a possible conflict between criminal groups with a presence in the area.
INVESTIGATING EXECUTIONS IN RELATION TO RECENT EVENTS
Sources close to the case indicated that a connection with recent significant arrests made in Cancún was not ruled out, which could have provoked tensions and internal adjustments within criminal structures.
Following the events, security elements from the three levels of government secured the perimeter, carried out the collection of ballistic evidence, and gathered testimonies.
Finally, authorities reported that the investigations remained ongoing to identify those responsible and fully clarify what happened.
