Cancún, Mexico — A deadly armed attack in the early hours of the morning left one man dead in the Colonia México neighborhood, located on the border between Cancún and the continental zone of Isla Mujeres.

Details of the Incident

According to preliminary reports, the victim was intercepted by two individuals traveling on a motorcycle who, without warning, opened fire. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots before the assailants fled at high speed in an unknown direction.

The man collapsed on the public roadway, suffering severe injuries. Red Cross paramedics arrived at the scene after receiving reports but could only confirm that he showed no signs of life, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds to various parts of his body.

Victim’s Identity and Investigation

Authorities have not yet disclosed the victim’s identity, though unofficial sources suggest he may have been known as “Jesús,” alias “El Pasé,” a figure reportedly involved in aggressive behavior and altercations in the area.

Personnel from the Quintana Roo State Secretariat of Citizen Security launched an operation to locate the perpetrators, while investigators from the State Attorney General’s Office cordoned off the scene to collect shell casings and other evidence. The body was transported to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) for an autopsy.
