Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A driver fled the scene after crashing a car into the metal security shutter of a commercial establishment in the Luis Donaldo Colosio neighborhood in the early hours of Monday morning. The vehicle was left abandoned at the site following the incident.
The accident occurred on 30th Avenue at the intersection with Colosio Avenue at approximately 1:30 a.m. According to preliminary reports, witnesses stated that the driver, who was traveling at excessive speed, lost control on the pavement. The case has been referred to the Secretary of Public Security for corresponding follow-up. The vehicle's owner is expected to present themselves before the authorities to determine liability and cover the damages caused.
The identity of the driver or the vehicle's owner involved has not been officially released at this time.
