Quintana Roo Hotel Occupancy Soars During Holidays

Hotel occupancy in Quintana Roo during the 2025 year-end holiday season

Tulum, Quintana Roo. – The state of Quintana Roo experienced significant tourist activity between December 20 and 26, 2025, coinciding with the year-end holidays. The state recorded a total of 2,343 air arrivals, of which 683 were domestic flights and 1,660 were international flights, demonstrating a strong influx of both domestic and foreign visitors.

This air connectivity was complemented by high levels of hotel occupancy in the most popular destinations of the Mexican Caribbean. Costa Mujeres positioned itself at the forefront with an 84.9 percent occupancy rate, followed closely by the Riviera Maya with 81.4 percent. Other destinations such as Puerto Morelos (79.9 percent) and Cancún (79.3 percent) also showed solid figures, confirming their appeal to tourists.

Destinations like Tulum and Cozumel maintained positive indicators, with occupancy rates of 76.2 and 76.5 percent, respectively, benefiting from their cultural, natural, and adventure offerings. Meanwhile, Isla Mujeres and the Grand Costa Maya area recorded stable occupancy rates of 58.2 and 58.6 percent.

In total, during that week, 537,305 tourists arrived in the Mexican Caribbean, consolidating Quintana Roo as a primary tourist destination during the December season.
