Woman injured in Tulum traffic collision as year ends

Emergency responders at the scene of a traffic collision in Tulum

Tulum, Quintana Roo — A female motorcyclist was injured after being involved in a collision with a pickup truck this morning, in a traffic incident recorded on one of Tulum’s main avenues just before the year ends.

The accident occurred on a south-to-northbound road when the woman, who was heading to work, was riding a scooter without license plates. Witnesses indicated that the pickup truck, used for operational tasks, allegedly invaded the motorcyclist’s lane, causing the collision that led to her falling onto the pavement with visible pain and discomfort.

Red Cross paramedics arrived at the scene to provide immediate attention to the affected woman. After a preliminary assessment, she was transferred to a nearby hospital to receive specialized medical care due to the intensity of the impact.

Meanwhile, traffic teams implemented an operation in the area to facilitate vehicular flow, as circulation has increased considerably during this season. Additionally, they carried out the necessary procedures to establish the mechanics of the incident and determine the possible responsibilities of the driver of the involved pickup truck.

The incident adds to other traffic accidents reported in recent days, in which the increase in vehicles and visitors has raised the risk on Tulum’s main roads during the holiday period.
