Cancún, QR. – The National Meteorological Service (SMN) reported that on December 31, Cold Front 25 maintains conditions of partly cloudy to cloudy skies in the Yucatán Peninsula, with showers in Quintana Roo and Campeche, as well as isolated rains in Yucatán.
From the early hours of the day, Cold Front 25 generates a cool environment in the morning and mild during the afternoon, in addition to a “Norte” event with winds of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 60 kilometers per hour.
The “Norte” event associated with Cold Front 25 will tend to decrease during the afternoon on the coasts of Quintana Roo, although waves of between 2.0 and 3.0 meters in height remain, mainly on the northern coast of the state.
Cold Front 25 Maintains High Waves on State Coasts
The State Coordination of Civil Protection (Coeproc) reported that the modified arctic air mass driving Cold Front 25 will continue to influence Quintana Roo, maintaining partly cloudy skies during the day and rains with intervals of showers, with accumulations of between 5 and 25 millimeters.
Cold Front 25 will favor a mild environment during the day and cool to cold at dawn, as well as north and northeast winds with gusts of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour, mainly in coastal areas. Waves of 2 to 3 meters in height are also forecast, along with the presence of fog banks in rural areas, urban areas, and highway sections.
