Isla Mujeres — Municipal authorities have shut down a materials bank operating without permits on plots 703, 704, and 705 in the Zona Continental of Isla Mujeres. The closure followed the detection of environmental damage and violations of the Ciudad Mujeres Urban Development Program (PDU).
The operation, led by the Directorate of Urban Development and the Directorate of Environment and Ecology, confirmed that the extraction of materials was being carried out irregularly, causing damage to the natural environment and altering the rights of way established in the PDU. Following the inspection, the area was secured and the corresponding closure seals were placed.
Environmental and Urban Vigilance Reinforced
The Municipal Government reported that these types of operations are maintained on a constant basis, in some cases with the support of state agencies, with the objective of enforcing environmental regulations and guaranteeing orderly urban development. These actions seek to protect local ecosystems and prevent activities that compromise the sustainability of the region.
