Plastic Skull Masquerades as Human Head Near Cancun Beach

Several beachgoers got a bit of a scare when they spotted what appeared to be a "human head" floating just a few meters off a Cancun beach. The surprise deepened when it was discovered that the "head" was actually made of plastic.

The incident occurred shortly before 4:30 p.m. on September 15. Security officers, forensic experts, and the Marina were called to a beach near the El Meco area in Puerto Juarez, Cancun. This response was prompted by reports of a disturbing object seen in the water.

Some beachgoers claimed to have seen a "human head" floating near the shore. They quickly alerted emergency services. Swiftly, a team was assembled and an operation was launched, with assistance requested from local tourism service providers.

Using jet skis, the team scoured the surrounding waters in search of the reported "human head". What they found, to everyone's surprise, was indeed the object that had set off the alarm. However, it was not a "head", but a skull – a fake one at that.

The object, which was initially reported as a "human head" floating in the sea, turned out to be a plastic skull. Once the object was brought to shore, forensic experts quickly determined that the flurry of activity on the Cancun beach was due to a well-intentioned misunderstanding. The supposed "head" was in fact a highly realistic plastic skull, similar to those used in popular pirate ship shows.
