Beijing, China — The Mundo Maya Group has participated in the first edition of the Tourism and Investment Trade Fair in Beijing with a strategic agenda aimed at boosting tourism cooperation and investment between Mexico and China. The Mexican delegation was led by the Secretary of Tourism of Mexico, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, the Ambassador of Mexico in China, Jesús Seade Kuri, and Adolfo Héctor Tonatiuh Velasco Bernal, Director General of the Maya World Group.
A Strategic Agenda for Cooperation
The activities included a tour of the stands at the Chinese Tourism Trade Fair, where the Mexican delegation accompanied the Director General of International Exchange and Cooperation of China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The purpose was to present all the areas of opportunity represented by building a strategic alliance in the tourism sector between the two nations, which share a long history of commercial exchange and migratory flows.
A protocol inauguration ceremony was also held with the participation of Mexican and Chinese authorities, in which the Mundo Maya Group was highlighted as a tourism reference. A tourism promotion panel was conducted, emphasizing the importance of promoting tourism to Mexico and proposing the creation of specialized guides for Chinese tourists.
Meetings were also held with hotel chains and tour operators such as Shangri-La, Mafengwo, Qunar, and Dragon Trail to promote destinations including Cancún, Tulum, Chichén Itzá, Guanajuato, Mexico City, and Mazatlán.
Showcasing Mexican Tourism Infrastructure
During multimedia presentations, the tourism offerings of the Mundo Maya Group were showcased, with an emphasis on hospitality, connectivity, and services. This included presentations on the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), the Mexicana airline, and the Mayan Train.
Additionally, a visit was made to the facilities of Huawei to explore technological applications that would allow for the gathering of statistics on the tourism decisions of Chinese citizens.
The Trade Fair served as a strategic platform to expand Mexico-China tourism cooperation, promoting the “Visit México” platform and the Mundo Maya Group Guide. The event allowed thousands of attendees to learn about the hotel and cultural offerings of this group, positioning Mexico as an attractive destination for tourism and investment.
The Mundo Maya Group’s portfolio includes significant hotel infrastructure throughout the Yucatán Peninsula. Its connection to the Mayan Train and airports makes it a unique global network for enjoying recreational, vacation, cultural, ecotourism, and adventure activities—a potential that continues to make an impact in every venue where it is presented, as was the case on this occasion before the Chinese market.
