Tizimín, Yucatán — Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena has launched a 34-million-peso initiative to modernize agricultural production in Yucatán, distributing 68 pieces of farming equipment to local producers in Tizimín. The event, part of the Yucatán Farmland Mechanization Program, took place during the inauguration of the 2025 Livestock Market.

A Historic Investment in Mechanization

The governor led the handover of the first package of agricultural machinery, marking a significant step in the state's efforts to enhance the competitiveness and efficiency of its agricultural sector. The joint investment of 34 million pesos provided producers with tractors, balers, seeders, drones, and harvesters.

Addressing attendees, including the host mayor Adrián Quiroz Osorio, Governor Díaz Mena emphasized that this action drives the transformation of Yucatán's countryside by providing tools that make producers' work more efficient and profitable.

"I want to tell all the producers of the Yucatán countryside from here in Tizimín that we will continue to keep the application windows open permanently, as a new phase of support deliveries is coming, which will take place at the next Xmatkuil Fair in a month and a half. Therefore, those who had not yet been encouraged to invest in solar panel irrigation systems and this type of machinery have the doors of the Government of the Maya Renacimiento open," he said.

The governor underscored that this delivery marks a historic event, as the machinery was financed with state resources. He highlighted that in Tizimín alone, more than 90 million pesos have been allocated to support the countryside through programs such as genetic improvement, livestock repopulation, and supplies, including over 500 bovine and ovine stud bulls that strengthen the livestock herd in the eastern part of the state.

Díaz Mena stated that after years of neglect, the Yucatán countryside is being rescued with direct support, transparency, and results so that the youth of the east can find opportunities to prosper in their land without needing to migrate.

"This is the spirit of the Agricultural Renacimiento: to return hope, strength, and dignity to those who have sustained the economy with their tireless work," he said.

He also recognized the unconditional support of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, who has always backed Yucatán.

Government and Producer Coordination

In his address, the head of the Ministry of Rural Development, Edgardo Medina Rodríguez, highlighted that for the first time in history, and with great effort, the delivery of tractors has been realized through the Yucatán Farmland Mechanization Program.

He added that through the Genetic Improvement and Livestock Repopulation Program, which has seen an investment of 11.1 million pesos in the acquisition of bovine and ovine stud bulls, the quality of the state's livestock herd is being strengthened.

"These results reflect the coordinated work and the sum of efforts between the government and producers, with support designed especially for those who work the land. The Renacimiento of the countryside is a priority, and with these actions, the fruits will begin to be seen," he concluded.

For his part, Mayor Adrián Quiroz Osorio recognized the permanent support that Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena has provided to the livestock sector, the countryside, and the producers of the municipality.

The event was attended by the President of the Governing Board and Political Coordination of the State Congress, Wilmer Monforte Marfil; the federal delegate of the Ministry of Rural Development, Jorge Carlos Berlín Montero; the president of the Tizimín Local Livestock Association, Isidro Pérez Aguilar; and the president of the Regional Livestock Union of Eastern Yucatán, Mario López Meneses.
