Tulum, Mexico — The Aura Music Fest launched in Tulum with a strong turnout of tourists and local families, positioning itself as a cultural and entertainment hub to help revive the municipality’s economy. The festival, spearheaded by local councilman Jorge Portilla Mánica, drew thousands of attendees, including tourists and visitors, who enjoyed live music and regional comedy performances.

The event’s primary goal is to address the ongoing tourism crisis in Tulum, which has been exacerbated in recent months by the influx of sargassum seaweed. Portilla Mánica expressed gratitude to the business community for supporting the festival’s inaugural edition, emphasizing its role in stimulating the local economy and providing recreational and cultural alternatives for tourists, visitors, and Tulum residents.

A Celebration of Music and Talent

Audiences were treated to a showcase of musical talent, with Venezuelan singer Lasso stealing the spotlight, earning sighs and applause from the crowd. The festival continues tonight at 8:00 PM in the open-air space of the Parque Museo de la Cultura Maya, featuring a headline performance by the band Playa Limbo.

The Aura Music Fest represents a concerted effort to restore Tulum’s appeal as a premier tourist destination while offering families and visitors a vibrant cultural experience.
