Tulum, Quintana Roo — Violence once again shook the municipality on Thursday after two separate armed attacks were reported in different areas, leaving at least two people dead and one injured. The most recent incident occurred in the afternoon on the streets of the Yax Tulum neighborhood, where a man was fatally shot in a public space.
Execution in Broad Daylight
Witnesses reported that the victim was ambushed by armed individuals who opened fire without warning before fleeing the scene. The man’s body was left lying inside a liquor store as authorities cordoned off the area. Municipal police and National Guard officers secured the site while awaiting forensic teams from the State Attorney General’s Office.
Escalating Violence
This latest attack adds to a growing wave of violence in Tulum, which has seen multiple homicides and shootings in recent months. No suspects have been apprehended, and investigations remain ongoing.
Authorities have yet to release further details about possible motives or connections between the cases. The community remains on edge as law enforcement struggles to curb the escalating violence.
