Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A swift and coordinated response by emergency personnel followed a serious vehicular accident on Federal Highway 307, along the Cancún–Playa del Carmen stretch, just before the entrance to the municipal seat on Friday evening.
The incident resulted in 15 injuries, with four individuals requiring urgent medical transport:
- Two to the IMSS Hospital
- One to the General Hospital
- One to the private Amerimed Clinic due to the severity of their injuries
Multi-Agency Rescue Operation
The rescue and evacuation efforts involved personnel from the Secretary of Civil Protection, Risk Prevention, and Firefighters, alongside the Municipal Secretary of Citizen Security and support from the National Guard. Additional medical and aid institutions participating in the operation included:
- Mexican Red Cross
- ERUM
- Playamed
- Costamed
- Mexpol
- EMT
The interagency coordination ensured immediate medical attention and life-saving measures.
Municipal Commitment to Emergency Response
The Solidaridad Municipal Government reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives, providing timely emergency care, and strengthening the response capabilities of local security and rescue teams. These resources remain available for similar emergencies in the future.
