Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo — As part of the Playa del Carmen Municipal Government’s commitment to improving road infrastructure and citizen welfare, Mayor Estefanía Mercado announced the launch of an ambitious public works program in Puerto Aventuras. Comprehensive Road Rehabilitation Plan
The project includes the rehabilitation of eight key roadways, covering a total of 17,934.97 square meters of 5-centimeter-thick asphalt pavement, designed to enhance urban mobility and ensure long-term durability. Additionally, 4,800 linear meters of road markings will be applied to improve traffic safety in high-traffic zones.
The streets slated for improvement are strategically located across Puerto Aventuras and include:
- Calzada Puerto Maya (multiple sections)
- Avenida Calzada del Sol
- Circuito de las Especies
- Calle Chaca
- Calle Ciricote
- Calle Chicozapote
- Calle Xiat
Direct Benefits for Over 22,000 Residents
The initiative is expected to directly benefit 22,878 residents, improving daily mobility and strengthening community infrastructure.
“We know that a city transforms itself through its streets. This is an unprecedented investment in Puerto Aventuras, and it responds to a legitimate demand from our people. When public funds are managed properly, they can bring prosperity to everyone. They can change lives, dignify spaces, and drive the transformation we deserve,” Mayor Mercado stated, emphasizing the social and territorial focus of her administration.
Part of a Broader Urban Development Strategy
This road improvement plan is part of a larger strategy for community prosperity and sustainable development in the municipality of Solidaridad, where transparency, efficient use of public resources, and close engagement with citizens are guiding principles.
Playa del Carmen and Puerto Aventuras continue to demonstrate that a government with vision, leadership, and commitment can bring about meaningful change.
