On March 8th, at 6:30 AM sharp, Cancún park will host a unique race for men and women. At least 80 runners are expected to participate, all donning heels for the traditional Women's Day race.

Participants will need to demonstrate they are wearing heels of 5, 10, or even 15 centimeters in height for the 100 and 200-meter races. Iza Yorch, a representative from the Cancún's "Jaguares" athletics club, emphasizes that the footwear must be heels, not platforms. Yorch advises participants to practice beforehand and properly warm up their ankles to prevent sprains.

The race symbolically represents the strength of women, their societal presence, importance, and rights. There will be several categories: a 100-meter race with 10 cm heels, and a 200-meter race with 5 cm heels, starting at 6:45 AM.

In the recreational category, open to all, participants can either walk or run. They will also be entered into a draw for prizes provided by the sponsors. This category begins promptly at 7 AM.

The registration fee is 280 pesos per person. Participants will receive a commemorative kit that includes a themed t-shirt and a medal. There will also be a special prize for the most elegantly dressed woman in heels.

The race will benefit the Mexican Association of Service Animals (Amas) in Cancún. This new center, located in Bonfil, supports victims of various types of violence through the companionship of assistance dogs. The center charges small recovery fees but also offers free assistance for those who cannot afford it.

The organizers are expecting 200 participants in this year's race.
