Lidia Rojas, a candidate in the Othón P. Blanco election, remains calm and confident as she anticipates a recount of null votes.

In other local news, students from the National College of Professional Technical Education (Conalep) participated in a beach cleanup event on the eastern side of Cozumel island, at San Martín beach. The cleanup was organized by the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone (Zofemat) of the Municipal Government and resulted in the removal of around 250 kilograms of solid waste.

Zofemat Director, Milton Zavala Aradillas, explained that the cleanup was part of an ongoing effort to keep the island's beaches clean and free from sargassum and solid waste. This initiative is in line with the mandate of Municipal President, Juanita Alonso Marrufo, who emphasizes the importance of maintaining the beaches for the enjoyment of local, national, and international visitors.

The cleanup event was part of the "12th Conalep Week for Environmental Protection". Conalep managed to involve a group of 17 students from various specialties, including Administration, Tourism, and Food and Beverages. The students were supervised by teachers Geider Pérez Díaz and Gabriel Choza Sierra from the Promotion and Academic Liaison department.
